The on-base speed limit was only Harry Potter chibi pumpkin Halloween tree shirt. I caught up and was keeping up!! I looked up to see if Kathy was impressed. In doing so, I took my eyes off of the road. I did not see the pickup parked with its tailgate down. I hit it at full speed - the tailgate came over the top of the front wheel and hit the front post of the bike, which stopped immediately . I however did not stop - I went into the bed of the truck, head first - skinning my chin and hitting my head on the front of the bed. This was really bad!!! I heard the brakes of the bus lock up - quite a feat from 15mph. The guard came running back, as did the driver. Of course, everyone was concerned for my well being and ask “are you okay?”. The only reply I could make was “go away”. I was not badly hurt, mostly just bruised but it was weeks before I could look Kathy in the eyes. Over the course of the next twenty minutes I tried to explain to him that while I didn’t think it was something we did, and made the mistake of mentioning he might look out for something in his house that might be doing this, of which he took offence, he insisted on a full refund. I kept telling him, politely, that I couldn’t take back the mattress cover as it was a health care product and I couldn’t resell it if it was opened; I advised him to keep it for another twin bed.
